Care Guide
Caring for your Houdsall bag
Your Houdsall bag is made from genuine leather, a natural material that will develop character with use. A little care will help it look its best for years to come.
Everyday care
Avoid prolonged exposure to moisture, excessive heat and direct sunlight.
If your bag becomes wet, gently blot away excess moisture with a soft, dry cloth and allow it to dry naturally at room temperature. Avoid using direct heat such as a radiator or hairdryer.
Storage
When not in use, store your bag in its Houdsall cotton dust bag in a cool, dry place.
Lightly filling the bag with clean tissue paper or another soft material will help it retain its shape during longer periods of storage.
Avoid hanging the bag by its handles for extended periods when storing it.
The leather
Leather is a natural material, so subtle variations in grain and texture are part of its character. With use, the leather may gradually soften and develop its own individual appearance.
The lining
The cotton lining can be gently cleaned with a soft, slightly damp cloth if required. Avoid soaking the fabric and allow it to dry naturally before using the bag again.
A final note
Your Everyday Tote was designed to be used. The small changes that come with everyday use are part of the character of natural leather rather than something that needs to be avoided.
